Born in 1960 in Littlehampton, West Sussex, I started becoming interested in science and astronomy in particular at an early age. It was after moving to Chichester in 1969, and cycling to Selsey to meet the great man Sir Patrick Moore that my interest was cemented forever.
I obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics with Electronics in 1981 from Queen Mary College, University of London. I have worked in Africa as a Field Geophysicist, designed control systems for industrial Robots, and worked as an R&D engineer in the field of medical electronics. These days, for my sins, I write software for my living. (Update – I am nor retired!)
I am passionate about science, and am an enthusiastic atheist.
Today, I live with Sue, in the small village of Ham, not far from Selsey. I have two wonderful children Tom (b. 1991) and Katie (b. 1995) from a previous marriage.
